We truly believe that family members, friends and loved ones play a very important role in the patient’s recovery. Visitors are welcome anytime except
6 -8 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. These brief periods allow for patient rest time, as well as staff transitioning and communication while maintaining HIPAA standards.
CVICU and the Cath Lab waiting areas are located on the 2nd floor, with comfortable seating, recliners and televisions. The CCU waiting room is located on the 3rd floor. Waiting rooms also are located on the and 6th floors. Patient rooms are equipped with seating and a recliner for guests.
Because of interference with medical equipment critical to some patients, the use of celluar phones is restricted in certain critical care areas.
Courtesy phones are located throughout the hospital for the convenience of our patients and visitors. Local calls can be made.
Dining, Food and Vending Areas
A coffee shop is located on the 1st floor of the Heart & Vascular Hospital, serving light fare. The cafeteria is located on the 1st floor of the main hospital, with full-service meal options. Breakfast service – 6:30 a.m. -9:30 a.m.; Lunch service – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; and Dinner service – 4 p.m. -6:30 p.m. Vending machines are located on the 1st floor of The Heart & Vascular Hospital near the Chest Pain Unit, and on the 2nd floor near the Cath Lab waiting room.
If the patient or family needs the assistance of a translator, the patient’s nurse can facilitate this process.
The Gift Shop is located in the main hospital, adjacent to the front lobby. It has newspapers, magazines, books, flowers, greeting cards and a variety of gift items.
Gifts, Mail and Flowers
Mail and flowers are delivered to rooms Monday through Friday. Flowers, plants and balloons are not permitted in the critical care areas. Also, please check with nurses prior to bringing in outside food to a patient, due to possible diet restrictions.
The Heart & Vascular Hospital is equipped with Wi-Fi internet access.
